AN ANNUAL TRADITION
Our members love their town, their VFW, fellow members and having fun!
Each 4th of July, you will find our members proudly walking the 2 mile+ parade route engaging with attendees, waiving to family and friends and proudly sharing their (often award winning) floats.
When parade goers see the VFW marching by, they also know it's Red Tag Day! As the throngs of revelers line the street, they look forward to supporting their own local heroes through this long standing tradition. The Red Tag fundraiser is one of our most popular and anticipated fundraisers to support the Post.
So keep your eye out along the parade route, flag down a Post member and get your Red Tag to support your local VFW.
Check out the photos below!

One small flower can evoke such reverence and provide immense support for our veterans. Support the VFW with the purchase of your poppy.

PITMAN'S FINEST
A highlight of our annual Memorial Day breakfast is the recognition of a member of the Pitman Police Department for their dedication, commitment and leadership to the Department and Borough of Pitman.
We are pleased to announce
The 2023 recipient of the VFW Post #6469 Officer of the Year Award is
DC Zander.
We congratulate DC Zander on his recognition and appreciate him and all members of the Pitman Police Department for their unwavering dedication to our community.
At this years VFW Convention, hosted in Atlantic City, NJ, our Commander Michael Mollet, had the pleasure of assisting with the decorating of several trees and learning about the project and its importance.
Tree of Valor trees are decorated with photos of active military, veterans, and those we lost, as a way to honor and let them know they are always remembered. Trees are displayed all throughout America as a reminder that freedom isn’t free. The purpose is for the active military member or veteran who feels forgotten, to see these displays and to let them know they are not alone.
The Christmas tree was chosen because not everyone can be home for the holidays and some never make it home at all.
Green trees are for active military and veteran pictures.
White trees are decorated and dedicated to the combat fallen and those who have died in training accidents and were lost to suicide.
Suicide prevention hotline: dial 988, press 1.
It is the hope of our members to purchase and decorate our own Tree of Valor trees in the near future as a show of our support for our active military, fellow veterans and to memorialize those lost.
COMMUNITY PROJECT: We can't do this project without you! Interested members of the community who would like to join us on our TOV project are welcomed. We welcome and need photos of your past and/or present military member/s, as well as donations to assist with the purchase of trees and lights as well as offset photo ornament printing costs.
DISPLAYING OUR TREE OF VALOR TREES: Once our TOV trees are complete, we hope to display them proudly throughout town, throughout the year! If you are a business or organization who would like to host and proudly display our trees in your window, please contact us.
